Call it a simple misunderstanding. Two weeks ago, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a map illustrating the spread of debris washed off Japan during the 2011 tsunami. According to the map. the nearly two million tons of trash was spread over a region of the North Pacific and, if gathered together, could form an island the size of Texas. GIven that the waters of the North Pacific are now highly radioactive thanks to the amount of contaminated water still being dumped out of Fukushima, one can only sirmise that the whole goddamn debris island would be radioactive as well.
