This week the world lost an important leader and humanitarian not only for South Africa but the entire world. Former South African President Nelson Mandela passed away on 5 December, 2013 at the ripe age of 95. In the wake of his death there has been an outpour of support and shared condolences for this memory from people all over the globe.
As part of his humanitarian legacy Mandela created three charitable organizations in his lifetime to spread his vision of peace: Nelson Mandela Foundation, Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, and The Mandela Rhodes Foundation. All three organizations released a statement of grief for their lost leader and thanks from the continued messages of support and love.
